The Creativity of Aqidah Akhlak Teachers in Character Building as an Anti-Bullying Effort at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah 13 Pidie Jaya

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the creativity of Aqidah Akhlak teachers in shaping students’ character as an effort to prevent bullying behavior at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri (MIN) 13 Pidie Jaya. The focus of this study includes the role of teachers’ creativity in character building, the strategies applied in developing anti-bullying character among students, and the supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. This research employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of the madrasah principal, Aqidah Akhlak teachers, and students at MIN 13 Pidie Jaya. The findings reveal that the creativity of Aqidah Akhlak teachers plays an important role in shaping students’ character through the inculcation of moral values, exemplary behavior, habituation of mutual respect, and the provision of religious motivation. The strategies implemented by teachers include the use of varied teaching methods, persuasive approaches, religious activities, character-building programs, as well as advice and supervision of students’ behavior. Supporting factors in the formation of anti-bullying character include cooperation between teachers and parents, a religious school environment, and the existence of character development programs. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include the influence of peer environments, lack of parental attention, uncontrolled use of social media, and the low awareness of some students regarding the impacts of bullying. Therefore, the creativity of Aqidah Akhlak teachers is essential in creating a safe, comfortable, and bullying-free educational environment.
